Francisco Landín Jr. is a dedicated filmmaking artist and scholar whose work interrogates the intersections of history, place, and identity through visual storytelling and archival engagement. His project at Camp Naco will explore the site's multifaceted borderland history, particularly focusing on its cultural, racial, and military dimensions. With a practice rooted in community-centered research and a strong foundation in Chicanx and Indigenous studies, Landín aims to create work that not only honors the legacy of those connected to Camp Naco—including the Buffalo Soldiers and local Mexican American communities—but also challenges dominant historical narratives. A key part of his project includes community-based filmmaking classes, which will engage participants in dialogue and creative practice inspired by Camp Naco’s layered past, deepening local connections to the site while expanding its educational reach.
