More than a century ago, the small border communities of Naco, Arizona, and Naco, Sonora, found themselves caught in the middle of the Mexican Revolution. Between 1913 and 1929, battles for control of the border brought revolutionary armies, aerial bombardments, artillery, and thousands of American soldiers—including Buffalo Soldiers of the 9th and 10th Cavalry—to this remarkable corner of the Borderlands.

Sieges of Naco / Sitios de Naco explores the conflicts, communities, and forces that shaped Naco through archival photographs, contemporary footage, oral histories, and interviews on both sides of the border. The film reveals how revolution, migration, industry, race, and the evolving international boundary transformed one small community—and ultimately led to the creation of Camp Naco.

Following the screening, filmmaker and public historian Gerald Lamb will lead a discussion about the film and the history behind it.
